I am a 35-year-old mom who decided to download iPhoto to organize images from our family’s adventures and milestones more efficiently, and I must state that this tool is an indispensable assistant in this case.
Whether we have birthday parties or vacations, I always try to capture each precious moment with my iPhone or camera. After returning home, I upload those images into iPhoto without trouble and divide them into groups by event or occasion in a jiffy.
For example, last summer I organized a fabulous trip with the children and their grandma to the beach and made a lot of great shots and clips for TikTok. I used iPhoto and could easily collect all photos in one great album, which was called "Beach Trip 2023," and transfer this album to our distant relatives. I love shooting pastime with our family, and all I need is to view these great photos myself, no other alternative to iPhoto can do it without craches while transfering.

Integrates with iCloud
With the Photos app, synchronization of all my family images across all my Apple devices through iCloud Photo Library is a seamless procedure. I appreciate the convenience of having access to all my shots on my iPhone, iPad, and Macbook. Besides, I can be sure that my pics won’t be deleted accidentally, as they are all backed up on iCloud. Having precious memories up to date on all our devices is another positive aspect of iPhoto software.
Basic editing of heartfelt family photos
As one of the best photo editing software for Mac, iPhoto comes with a basic editing toolkit for fixing our family photos quickly and conveniently.
There are cropping tools and a variety of filters, as well as other options that allow enhancing pics and videos from our weekday activities, amazing journeys, or just our pastime at home before sharing them with the nearest and dearest.
Shared image streams
Shared Albums make sharing pics with relatives and friends a breeze. It is similar to social media and allows commenting and liking photos. Being able to get connected and share memorable occasions, meetings with friends, birthdays of our children, and our summer vacations, with someone who was not with us is really great.
Organization with albums
Creating albums for different occasions and people with this photo management software for Mac is a breeze. Grouping photos according to various parameters and events is an easy and more convenient way to find and enjoy our family memories.
Difficulty in customization
Changing the names of images or adding metadata in iPhoto is a challenging task. For instance, I needed to rename our family pic to specify the date and location of our summer holiday in Florida, but the software does not offer a simple way to do so.
Performance issues
Slow performance and occasional glitches like images appearing greyed out or the program freezing. These issues decreased my efficiency in organizing and editing my family pictures making my image grouping routine more problematic and less enjoyable.
