I wanted to find the best lyric video maker because a lot of our followers at FixThePhoto kept asking for recommendations. The problem is that many tools out there are either too complicated, don’t let you customize UI much, or don’t deliver high-quality results. That makes it hard to create professional lyric videos.
To make sure my review was accurate, I talked to my team, checked what people were saying on Reddit and Quora, read expert reviews, and personally tested over 30 lyric video makers. We test each lyric video maker based on how easy it is to use, how much you can customize, how well it automates tasks, and the quality of the final video when exported. This helps us find out which software is the best.
Here’s what I looked for when choosing the best ones:

FlexClip proved to be a great tool for making lyric videos. I added the lyrics myself, changed the font, colors, and animations, and the result videos looked nice for any type of song. The AI subtitle tool made things even easier by picking up the lyrics automatically, which saved a lot of time.
One of the best things about FlexClip was all the creative choices. There were so many fonts, animations, and effects, so it was easy to make the video match the song’s vibe. The platform also had ready-made templates and cool overlays, making it simple to edit even for harder projects. Sharing videos straight to YouTube, TikTok, and other sites was also another helpful feature.
Tetiana liked how simple FlexClip was to use. But she did notice that, even though the AI tool to extract lyrics was very accurate, you still had to make small changes sometimes to ensure the lyrics were perfectly in sync.

We tested VEED to make a lyric video for a blog project, and it was super easy. VEED has a bunch of ready-made templates just for lyric videos, so I picked one that matched the song’s mood, then uploaded the song and started adding the lyrics. I could change the timing, fonts, and animations however I wanted.
The editing tools were simple to use. I liked how easy it was to make the lyrics match the music. This video editing software for Windows and Mac even suggested the timing for each lyric, which saved me a lot of effort. There were lots of text styles, animations, and cool effects to choose from, which made the video look professional. Plus, I could preview the video as I worked on it, so I knew how it was turning out in real time.
Some of my colleagues from FixThePhoto also tested VEED. Tetiana and Kate liked that it could add subtitles automatically, but sometimes they had to fix the timing manually. They believed VEED was great for social media videos but not powerful enough for big, professional projects. One of the best things about VEED is that you don’t need to download anything - it works right in a web browser, which makes it perfect for beginners.

Adobe has some really good lyric video makers available. If you want cool animations, After Effects is the best choice (works on Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, iPadOS; free or $9.99/month). If you need super-detailed editing, Premiere Pro is great (for Windows and MacOS; free for 7 days, then $22.99/month) because it offers tools for high-quality editing and useful AI features. But if you just want something quick and easy, Adobe Express is perfect (for Windows and MacOS; free for 7 days, then $22.99/month). No matter your skill level, Adobe has something that works for you.

I tried YouTube Movie Maker to make a lyric video for a pop song and the process was super easy and quick. First, I picked one of the built-in lyric templates, which helped me get started fast. Then, I changed the text by moving it around, picking different fonts, and choosing colors to match the song.
Next, I added cool effects like moving text, floating particles, and masks to make the video look more exciting. This free video editor for YouTube lets you use these effects on both the lyrics and the video itself, making everything look smooth. The software has two modes: Wizard Mode (great for beginners) and Full Mode (for people who want more control).
Tetiana liked that the lyric video maker was easy to use, even in Full Mode. She also loved the many effects that made her video entertaining and colorful. Plus, she could add custom backgrounds, pictures, and videos along with the song. But she wished the templates had more variety for people who want to create something unique.

At FixThePhoto, we tried out different tools for making lyric videos, and Kapwing was one of the easiest to use because it works right in a web browser. First, I uploaded a song to the editor. You can either upload a music file from your computer or paste a link from the internet, which is great if your song is online.
Then, I added the lyrics. I also tried Kapwing’s auto-subtitle feature, which transcribes the words and adds them for you. It worked okay, but I had to fix a few mistakes. After that, I changed the text style. I picked different fonts, colors, sizes, and moved the lyrics around to match the music. The subtitle editor has a lot of cool text animations to make the words pop.
When my lyric video was done, I saved it in 720p quality (that’s the limit for free users). I also tested how easy it was to share. Kapwing lets you post directly to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook without extra steps, which is handy. Tetiana liked how simple it was to use but didn’t love the watermark on the free version. She also thought the editing options were not as powerful as professional software like After Effects. But we both agreed that Kapwing is great for beginners or anyone who needs to make a quick lyric video.

First, I uploaded a song and tested the automatic speech-to-text tool. Wave.video quickly turned the song’s words into subtitles, which saved me a lot of time. Then, I changed the text by picking different fonts, sizes, colors, and backgrounds to match the mood of the song.
Next, I played around with voiceovers. I tried recording my voice inside the editor and also tested the AI text-to-speech tool. The lyric video maker had lots of different voices and languages, which made it impressive to try out for different projects.
I also looked at the stock library, which has various videos, pictures, and music you can use as a background for your lyric video. When I finished, sharing was easy because I could upload the video straight to YouTube, Dropbox, and other social media.
Tetiana liked the automatic captions and thought the text-to-speech tool helped make videos in different languages. But she also noticed that Wave.video isn’t the best for making high-quality animated lyrics because it’s more of a general video editor.

I tried Lyrical.ly, a super easy app for making lyric videos with minimum effort. The app has ready-made themes for love, birthdays, festivals, sad and romantic occasions. I picked a song and some pictures, tapped “Create” and in just a few seconds, my lyric video was ready. There aren’t a lot of ways to customize the video, but I could still pick different fonts, add filters, and adjust animations. The app also has a huge music library with over 4,000 songs, and new tracks are added every day.
Tetiana also tried the editor and thought it was great for making quick and stylish lyric videos, especially for social media posts. She liked the many templates and song choices, but she wished she could customize more things to create unique videos. She also didn’t like that the free version of this TikTok video editing app has a lot of ads, which can be annoying while making a video.

I tried Rotor Videos to make a hip-hop video and see if it could match the lyrics to the rap-style vocals. I gave it the lyrics, and the AI did most of the work. The video editor for Instagram has various templates, transitions, and motion graphics available to use. It timed the words to the music, added cool effects, and put everything together within minutes. The video looked really good, so I didn’t have to fix much manually.
For complex lyrics (like fast rap or words that overlap) I had to fix a few small things myself. Tetiana tested it with a pop song, and she said the timing was super accurate. She also liked the templates and how fast they worked. But if you want full control over every detail, this lyric video maker might feel a little limited.

I also tried Capify because it can add captions to videos accurately and quickly. I uploaded my song as an mp3 file and picked a high-quality picture for the background. The AI listened to the song and added captions automatically. It was accurate, even for fast lyrics, which is quite impressive.
Tetiana and I agreed it was way easier than typing out all the words ourselves. You can customize your lyrics video by changing the font, color, and background, but the lyric video maker doesn’t have advanced effects and animations.
The video lyric maker app is simple and easy to use, so even beginners can figure it out. Exporting the video was quick, and the final video looked great. However, the audio can’t be longer than 6 minutes, and the file can’t be bigger than 100MB, which may not be suitable for certain projects.

We tested over 30 different apps and programs to find the best software for making lyric videos, like Animaker, Videoleap, Videobolt, Lyrical.ly, LyricalVideoMaker, Capify AI, Flixier, Steve.AI, MiniTool MovieMaker, Vegas Pro, Aegisub, Neural Frames and more. Each had different features, but not all of them were good enough to make it to the top. We focused on how easy they were to use, what features they had, how much you could customize, video quality, price, and overall experience.
I ranked FlexClip first because it’s super easy to use and has great templates, making it perfect for short and professional lyric videos. VEED came second because it is easy to use with great features for creating lyric videos. Adobe software (Express, Premiere Pro, After Effects) came third because they have a lot of advanced features, but they are harder to learn.
Ease of use & user interface. We reviewed how easy it was for new users to learn, how clear the Ui was, and if the software had ready-made templates. We wanted to see how fast we could make a simple lyric video without watching long tutorials. Lyric video makers that had a neat design and easy drag-and-drop features got the best scores.
Features & customization options. We looked at different text animations like scrolling, bouncing, and kinetic typography. We also checked the fonts, backgrounds, and how well you could match lyrics with the music. We tested if these editors were easy to use and if they let us customize text placement, colors, and effects freely.
Lyric synchronization & automation. We checked how well the tools automatically matched the lyrics to the beat of the song. We also checked how much manual editing was needed to get the timing just right if automatic syncing wasn't available or wasn't the best.
Export quality & format options. After making sample lyric videos, we saved them in different video qualities (like 720p, 1080p, and 4K) and formats (like MP4 and MOV). We checked how fast the videos were saved, how clear they looked, and if the sound was good. We also checked if free versions added a watermark and if paid versions had better quality.
Platform compatibility. We tested if the tools worked well on different devices and operating systems like Windows, Mac, and web browsers if the editor is web-based. We also checked if they had mobile apps and if those apps worked smoothly.
Team collaboration & sharing features. For tools that allowed teamwork, we checked how easy it was for multiple people to work on the same lyric video. We tested cloud storage, real-time editing, and sharing options, which are useful for remote collaboration or agencies handling many projects at once.
Performance & stability. We wanted to see how well the lyric video maker software worked while creating and saving videos for everyday use. If a tool crashed a lot, slowed down the computer, or lagged while editing, we gave it a lower score. The best tools worked fast and efficiently.
From our testing, we found the best lyric video makers for both beginners and professionals. Whether you're just starting or already experienced, these tools will help you create high-quality lyric videos easily.
