Adobe Acrobat Pro stands out as one of the most reliable tools for manipulations notes from lectures, worksheets, interactive PDF files and others. I downloaded Adobe Acrobat Pro for free and it’s sooo easy to create and share the learning materials with my fellows now.

There are so many different features for collaboration and productivity which make this software the most convenient one that I have used in my 10 years of teaching at Princeton University.

Adobe Acrobat Pro has a friendly interface that makes it easy to find and use its general features to create and modify my educational files. The design is consistent for mobile and desktop applications which allows me to use the PDF editor when I'm on the move or giving online Zoom lectures outside the classroom.

Professional PDF Editing

Adobe Acrobat Pro has a user-friendly interface which makes it a great choice for people who are not pros when it comes to using the editors but want to be able to use advanced features. With this software, you can easily edit text, images or shapes that are in your PDF document. It is really helpful to me when I need to update some notes for the class or when I need to insert an image in my PDF file. Those features let me edit any details of the document without changing the quality and format of the file.

Creating Form

This free PDF reader has a feature which helps create an interactive form that can be shared with anyone. Thanks to Adobe Acrobat Pro, I don't have to waste any time or paper to gather information from my students. The class can access and use the form from their devices (phones, tablets, laptops etc) and then I can easily read all their responses as they will be put together automatically for me by the software.

Conversion features

The software is particularly useful if you need to convert Microsoft Word or PowerPoint to a PDF file and save the initial quality. I always use this feature when I need to share some notes or assignments with my students because sometimes Word documents may appear different on different devices, while PDF does not change no matter what device or what software you are using to open it.

Organizational features

Adobe Acrobat Pro recently introduced a new Home tab that makes it so much easier to see recently opened documents, review them or find the files you need in the Document Cloud like the history in your browser.

This update boosted my workflow as finding the files in folders and my cloud used to take ages. Now it takes seconds to find and open a PDF document I need for my classes.

Quite costly

The main disadvantage of Adobe Acrobat Pro for me and other educators is the premium pricing. As a professor at Princeton University, I always need to create educational content for my students that can be distributed, such as notes from the class, worksheets, starters and other interactive PDFs. However, the price of the software may be a drawback for many lecturers and departments, especially if they have tight budgets and can’t us Adobe’s discounts, so they may take risks using Adobe Acrobat Pro torrents, which are illegal.

Resource-intensive

If you have an older computer, or a laptop with a small amount of RAM, it will be hard to work with large PDFs or do Optical Character Recognition. Quite often I have lags and issues while working with large interactive PDFs because my computer in the university is quite old.
