As someone who runs a small souvenir store both online and offline, I decided to change my software suite and try the Corel PaintShop Pro X7 version and see if I can use it to design small and simple marketing assets like flyers, brochures, and improve my Insta posts to promote my business.
Compared to alternative graphic design software, this option is reasonably priced, which is why I didn’t hesitate to purchase it despite my limited budget. I need it quite rarely and didn’t want any long-lasting subscription.
Moreover, the quality of the results that I got from this software is on par with most premium tools that I’ve used in the past. The available functionality is intuitive, which was important for me as a non-professional in this field. Additionally, PaintShop Pro X7 supports Photoshop actions, which can make the post production a lot easier.

This feature helped me conveniently produce typography assets for my flyers and business cards and make all text on ads look great and not clumsy. I had no trouble editing and personalizing the text as well as enhancing it with textures and images to ensure it looks aesthetically pleasing and professional. Occasionally unstable performance
I noticed that this software can get rather slow when I’m working on big images for large-scale printing. It’s a bit irritating when I want to make some fast edits and I have to wait for a long time for the application to respond.
Compatibility issues with older PCs
The PC at my store is a bit old, so I can’t get Corel PaintShop Pro X7 to run smoothly on it. As such, I wasn’t able to enjoy optimal performance and will have to either upgrade my PC or download a PaintShop Pro alternative, which isn’t something I can afford at the moment.
