The developers of Adobe Lightroom CC 2018 elevated their software to a new level of image editing and file management proficiency. This version after recent updates offers robust functionality, convenient integration, and an extremely user-friendly UI, reaching a new milestone for both photographers and professional retouchers.
As a freelance retoucher who's part of the FixThePhoto team, I was lucky to use Lightroom CC 2018 before it was released to the public. I instantly noticed its improved performance after usage of Lightroom 6 for a long time, more precise tools, and a wider range of creative opportunities it brings to the table. I’m certain that photographers from all around the world will also adore everything this version has to offer.
I enjoyed the chance to test Adobe Lightroom CC 2018 7.2.0.10 and gauge its enhanced performance and new AI tools, which should satisfy both beginner and experienced photographers interested in making their workflow more efficient.

After spending a lot of time with Adobe Lightroom 7.2.0.10, I’d like to see the following improvements:
1. Offline availability: Even though cloud integration is nice, it can be detrimental when you’re forced to work offline. I’d like to have unrestricted access to my image library even without an internet connection.
2. Personalized keyboard shortcuts: Lightroom CC 2018 doesn’t allow me to freely personalize shortcuts. Having more freedom in this aspect would make it a lot easier for me to automate certain common tasks and improve my productivity.
3. Large selection of advanced management features: For users who have expansive image libraries, Lightroom CC 2018 doesn’t offer the desired depth with its tagging, filtering, and search systems. Enhancing these aspects would make it a lot simpler to handle thousands of images across hundreds of folders.
If you’re not ready to invest money into professional software but want to avoid the risks associated with using unofficial applications, you should check out the available Adobe discounts or special offers like the Creative Cloud Photography plan.
Over the years, I’ve tried out several free applications with similar functionality. Although they cannot compete with the polished results delivered by Lightroom CC 2018 or even Lightroom 4.0, they can decently handle a variety of basic editing tasks. Here are my top three choices.
Also known as the “free Lightroom”, Darktable offers a rich editing toolkit and excellent file management capabilities. Like Lightroom 2018, it supports a non-destructive editing workflow, can process RAW files, and has powerful image organization functionality.
Lightroom users will find its module-based editing, with tools like tone curves, color grading, and exposure adjustment, pleasantly familiar.
RawTherapee is another free alternative to Lightroom CC 2018 you should pay attention to. This tool will appeal to users who prioritize in-depth RAW editing.
Akin to Lightroom, this software processes files non-destructively, offering robust tools for correcting colors, sharpening, and adjusting lens distortion. Its UI is rather complex, which is great for photographers who like to fine-tune every detail.
In my opinion, Polarr is very similar to Lightroom Mobile when it comes to making quick edits and enhancing images creatively. As such, this tool is an excellent option for both casual users and social media enthusiasts.
Like Lightroom 2018, it allows cropping pics, performing color correction, adjusting the exposure, as well as refining photos with customizable filters. However, the main selling points of Polarr are simplicity and creativity.
GIMP is an open-source image editing application that comes with a wide range of advanced features that resemble Photoshop, including intricate exposure, contrast, and color balance settings. Even though its UI isn’t as intuitive as Lightroom’s, it’s still a great choice for experienced users who aren’t intimidated by a bit of a learning curve.
Fotor is a user-friendly application with premade filters and simple editing features. Its intuitive nature makes it the perfect option for making quick adjustments on the fly without having to mess around with complex advanced tools.
Probably the main benefit of picking Lightroom CC 2018 7.2.0.10 is the ability to download additional presets to simplify color correction and instantly receive different looks. You can get several preset packs for free below and install them onto your copy of Lightroom Classic 7.2.0.10 today.
If you’re looking for a universal pack of Lightroom presets, you can’t go wrong with this one. It offers creative looks for photos of any genre and can be applied to images for Instagram and professional shots with equal success.
This collection of presets was developed for portrait photography, allowing you to enjoy natural skin tones and the lack of any flaws. Additionally, they add a tasteful blur to the backdrop and ensure your portraits have optimal lighting.
Enjoy retro-style photography? Use these vintage presets to infuse your photos with a warm atmosphere that resembles the feel you get from old pictures in your family albums.
