15 Facebook Photography Groups to Find Inspo & Like-Minded

As a new photographer at FixThePhoto, I looked for inspiration and knowledge in Facebook photography groups. After trying local meetups and online tutorials, I wanted more like real connections with people who love photography as much as I do. If you want a true community with no bots, Facebook photography communities are what you need.

I knew lots of photographers shared their work online, but looking through so many social media pages for good photos was tiring. Then I thought, why not make a list of the best Facebook photography groups? That way, photographers like me could find the right groups faster.

My search started with a simple question: “What qualities actually make a photography group stand out?” For my purposes, popularity and eye-catching photos alone weren’t enough; I was looking for active discussions, real learning potential, and a welcoming community.

I aimed to find spaces where photographers at all skill levels could develop their craft, showcase their work, and get meaningful feedback.

My colleagues from the FixThePhoto team share the same views, so they decided to join in and help me put together a list of the most useful and inspiring Facebook photography groups - the same ones they follow themselves. We also asked our clients which groups they find helpful and interesting, and even ran a poll on Instagram.

First, I signed up for tons of Facebook photography groups to explore their content and see how they worked. Some were lively, engaging spaces where members actively shared tips, behind-the-scenes insights, and helpful feedback. Others were just full of spam and people advertising their work. After a while, it became easy to spot the truly valuable groups.

While checking out different groups, I kept track of what made each one unique. Accessibility was also important; I preferred communities open to photographers of all skill levels, not just experts. What really stood out were groups that mixed inspiration with learning, where moderators participated actively and made everyone feel welcome.

Also, when choosing groups, I paid special attention to the number of active members. I didn’t just look at the total count listed on the group’s page, but checked how many likes and comments each post actually got.

For me, it was highly important to see that the number of people was real, not fake or bot accounts. Plus, I noticed how much spam or ads were in the groups. If there was too much, I didn’t include them in my list.
