Advantages

Faster and more stable performance. Adobe CC 2018 version 23.0.0 runs faster and smoother. Whether you’re editing high-resolution photos in Photoshop, editing 4K videos in Premiere Pro, or creating animations in After Effects, everything works better. It also handles heavy tasks without lag due to an optimized GPU, making the work easier.

Better Brush Smoothing in Photoshop. Photoshop now has a new brush smoothing feature for more precise drawing and editing. It allows you to make your strokes cleaner and more natural and remove the rough edges that can happen when you draw freehand. It’s a great tool for artists and photographers, showcasing innovation with Adobe Photoshop.

Faster editing in Premiere. Editing big video files is quicker because Premiere Pro has improved playback and rendering speeds. It works smoothly even when you add lots of effects or layers.

Easier cloud integration. Adobe CC 2018 makes it easier to keep your files up to date across all your devices. Whether you're working on your desktop or using a laptop on the go, your work stays saved and synced. This makes it easier to collaborate with others since everyone can access the same files.

Disadvantages

High system requirements. Since Adobe CC 2018 23.0.0 has many powerful features, it needs a strong computer to run smoothly. If you have an older computer with less RAM or storage, you might notice slow performance, lag, or crashes, especially when working with big files or high-quality media. Adobe Creative Cloud may not work properly, which can be frustrating for people with weaker computers.

Learning curve for new features. The new tools in Adobe CC 2018, like AI-powered selections and motion graphics templates, are helpful but can be hard for beginners to understand. It takes time to learn how to use these features, especially if you're not already familiar with Adobe software.

What Needs Improvement in Adobe CC 2018

After using Adobe CC 2018 23.0.0, here are some things that could be better:

1. Even though Adobe CC 2018 added cloud syncing to make it easier to access your files across different devices, there are still problems sometimes. Files don’t always sync properly, which can slow down your work, especially when working with others. Better syncing would make the work process easier and more efficient.

2. With all the new features, some users might find apps like Photoshop and Premiere Pro confusing. There are a lot of options and menus, which can be too much for beginners. Making the interface simpler and cleaner would make it easier to use without losing essential features.

3. The subscription-based pricing is a problem for many people. While it seems cheaper at first, it can cost a lot over time. Offering more flexible payment options or a one-time payment plan for those who prefer it would be a great improvement.

Free Alternatives

If you're looking for free Adobe CC alternatives), here are some tools we’ve tested with my colleagues at FixThePhoto over the years that can help you create great photos:

GIMP is a free tool that’s a good replacement for Photoshop. It works well for basic and intermediate photo editing. You can customize it and use many types of files, but the UI can be hard to use at first, and it doesn’t have all the advanced features of Photoshop.

Pixlr is a great alternative to Photoshop or Illustrator. It has tools for cropping, resizing, fixing colors, and adding text or effects. Pixlr is easier to use than Photoshop and it also works directly in your web browser, so you don’t have to install anything. However, it doesn’t have the same professional tools as Adobe, so it’s not as good for really complex projects.

Darktable is a great Lightroom alternative. It’s great for editing RAW images, color correction, and organizing photos. It’s more difficult for beginners to use, and while Lightroom is better for managing photos, batch editing, and syncing with the cloud, Darktable does a good job with photo editing.

Inkscape is a free alternative to Illustrator. It’s perfect for designing logos and other vector art. The interface is easy to understand, and while Inkscape is great for simple designs and is customizable, it doesn't have as many advanced features as Illustrator.

Audacity is a free program for recording and editing audio, and it’s a good alternative to Adobe Audition. When comparing Adobe Audition vs Audacity, Audacity stands out as a great tool for trimming, mixing, and adding effects to audio, but it doesn’t have all the advanced features like Adobe Audition, and it doesn’t work as smoothly with other Adobe apps.

FREE Bonus Tools

One of the best things about Adobe CC 2018 23.0.0 is the ability to use actions, which are pre-recorded steps that help you do repetitive tasks faster, like applying complex effects or editing pictures. With just one click, you can easily upgrade your images or apply the same style every time, saving you lots of time and effort.
