Nikon ViewNX2 is the perfect software application that makes it easy for me to organize and manage my portrait photo collections. Usefully designed features allow me to easily view, sort and categorize the images.
The Nikon RAW editor has a smartly designed user interface as well. While I am an amateur in photography, I can find what I want with ease. Since it is organized well, I can access whatever available by a click of a button on the editing and organizing tools.

Controls
Nikon ViewNX2 has a wide range of simple image browsing and editing tools. It makes it better than regular software preinstalled in the operating system. From my experience, the controls are easy to use. I can quickly browse through my portrait photo collection or even make simple edits. If you follow a Nikon ViewNX2 download link and install this software, you will see that it allows you to use the Picturetown feature. It makes it more convenient for me to store and share my photos.
Ease of use
Nikon ViewNX 2 comes with handy tools that can be used even by amateurs. Some of its features are also useful for professional photographers who want to edit their photos and video clips.
Its interface is user-friendly, with clear icons and menus that allow users to find the editing tools quickly. Whether I want to crop images, enhance my pics, or adjust the colors, ViewNX 2 has everything I need for efficient editing.
Basic editing tools
Although ViewNX 2 is quite good at organizing and managing using basic tools, it lacks advanced editing functionality. If you use Nikon lenses for capturing portrait pics, you might want to find a program that allows you to enhance these Nikon images, correct some lens distortions, ISO noise, etc.
As a portrait photographer, I regularly face situations requiring some advanced retouching. Unfortunately, ViewNX2 does not come with the necessary tools. Due to this, I have to pay for the Adobe subscription.
Effective photo organization
ViewNX 2 is a wonderful tool for photo organization. This photo catalog software allows users to create folders, edit keywords, and add star ratings to their photos.
These have proved very handy features in keeping my collections of portrait photos organized. Creating folders and tagging them with the appropriate keywords makes finding particular photos whenever I need at any particular moment easily done. Further, star ratings enabled quick search of the best portrait shots I was ever had.
No HDMI output
As a photographer who uses a Nikon camera, I often need to display my images on large TV screens or monitors. Unfortunately, ViewNX 2 doesn’t support direct HDMI output, which makes it difficult to utilize such devices. I have to use external video capture devices, which adds an extra step and has its limitations as well. It would have been so much more convenient if ViewNX 2 supported HDMI output allowing me to display my photos on large screens without additional equipment.
Speed
Unlike other free photo organizing software, ViewNX 2 is quite fast. I love its speedy output when working with JPEG and TIFF files since it enables me to edit and process portrait photos in a few clicks. This saves me valuable time and allows me to work more effectively, especially when editing a lot of pictures.
