When I started out as a front-end developer at a small company, I heavily relied on Adobe Dreamweaver CS3. The program supports HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so it is suitable for making functional and beautiful websites.
The best part was that I could see my designs come to life instantly, thanks to the side-by-side view of the code and the website. Besides, there was a built-in file transfer tool, so moving my finished work to the net was a breeze. In general, I like how fast and efficient this program is without requiring deep knowledge just after watching several Dreamweaver tutorials.
Dreamweaver CS3 is surely a good program, but I felt it was time to move on when I noticed that it is becoming outdated. The developer has released newer versions, which are packed with top-tier tools and features that are essential for building modern websites.

Easy effects creation
I really like using Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 to make sleek and interactive websites. I can create image galleries that are easy to click through.
Besides, it is possible to design elements that move on the page without delving deep into coding. The software is rather user-friendly, but if you want to tackle some advanced tasks, there are lots of guides and tutorials built right into the program.
So, whenever I want to try something new, I can just look up the process or tool in tutorials.
Multiple programming languages
When you download Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, you can work with different languages, including XML, JavaScript, ASP, and CSS in one place. This is a huge advantage if you are going to team up with other people on website creation and integrate various technologies into your platform.
Thanks to the integration with the Spry framework, I can also add Ajax features, like dynamic content loading and form validation. I greatly appreciate that I can do all these tasks without writing complex codes from the ground up.
Amazing workflow acceleration
The program also contains some handy features to make your workflow faster. For instance, there is code hinting, live preview, and template support.
When I use any of the mentioned options, I always complete my assignments much faster. Besides, it is possible to upload assets and designs from other Adobe programs like Photoshop or Flash.
This is a smart move from the company as users can produce materials in different software but preserve consistency across them.
Top flexibility
You may also want to launch Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 free if you want an environment supporting both visual design and direct coding. My front-end developing buddies probably understand my admiration. Here it is possible to jump from the visual layout mode to the code view and make the needed corrections.
Thus, you receive websites that not only look good but also work lag-free. All in all, Dreamweaver CS3 can cater to your needs if you want to have coding and design tools at your fingertips.
Bloated code generation
This is actually a big issue that takes a toll on how efficient a created site is. I want my codes to be clean and optimized to receive websites that work smoothly.
However, this isn’t always possible with Dreamweaver CS3. Besides, some menus in the program could be simplified. Personally, I like more minimalistic layouts that allow locating the needed tools and features quickly. The most frequent challenge for me in this software is to master tools I haven’t used before. But once I do that, the design process flows smoothly.
Lacks some features
Unfortunately, Dreamweaver CS3 lacks built-in support for Web 2.0 features like blogs and podcasts. Therefore, I can’t fully realize my ideas when I'm trying to add modern elements to my sites and need to download one of the Dreamweaver alternatives.
Besides, you can’t access the help system without indicating a registered serial number or if you don’t have a stale Internet connection.
There also may arise compatibility issues with Dreamweaver CS3 and some content management systems. Of course, such factors drive me crazy when I want to design a site without being distracted from work.
