The latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud 2019 is sure to impress many creatives. It's packed with powerful tools and AI features that make it easier to create stunning visuals both for novices and experts. Whether you're a photographer, videographer, or designer, this version 20.0 update is worth checking out.

I have spent nine years retouching images at FixThePhoto. During this time, I've relied heavily on Adobe software. Before upgrading to CC 2019, I primarily used the 2017 workflow. It was sufficient for most of my image retouching needs.

But I noticed it didn’t cope well with intricate beauty edits and large files. The problem became particularly pressing during busy periods. I often had to perform hair retouching and skin texture polishing manually. It was time-consuming and upsetting.

adobe cc 2019 upgrade

I couldn't wait to try out Adobe CC 2019 as soon as it came out. I planned to use it for editing recent portraits taken by my colleague Tetiana. The developer upgraded Select Subject and Content-Aware Fill tools, using its proprietary Sensei's AI. Using them, I was able to handle rigmarole tasks much faster.

I use Photoshop and Lightroom at FixThePhoto to improve beauty and wedding photos. That’s why, I was very pleased when the company released the updated version of CC 2019. Using it, I can edit multiple images at once without losing quality or accuracy.

Even when managing many large files, which is the case in the busy season, I can quickly edit photos. Premiere Pro is another tool I like. I can’t do without it to edit behind-the-scenes videos for tutorials. The program work integrates with other Adobe programs smoothly.

I love how Adobe CC 2019 changed the limitations I faced previously. My design work has become a lot easier and more fun. I don't have to deal with technical issues anymore. If you're looking for a user-friendly creative tool, you should check out the Adobe CC free trial. Without spending anything, you can see what the program can do.

Advantages

adobe cc 2019 apps

✔️ Improved content-aware fill workspace. When using the upgraded CC 2019 version, I was particularly pleased with the Content-Aware Fill tool. Now, I can enjoy much more control over the sampling process. This is important because I can get accurate and natural results when removing objects from photos. I often rely on this feature when retouching portraits to create flawless skin textures.
✔️ Enhanced multi-device integration. With Adobe CC 2019, I can seamlessly switch between my computer and iPad while working on the same project. This flexibility is very helpful, especially when I'm working on several projects at the same time.
✔️ Performance boosts. It has become easier to work with high-resolution images and large sets of wedding photos in Photoshop and Lightroom within the Creative Cloud Photography plan. The developers increased the speed of most processes. People with many tasks will surely appreciate such an enhancement.
✔️ New Frame Tool in Photoshop. Before the Frame Tool, creating spaces for images was a bit challenging. Now, it's incredibly easy. This tool is very helpful especially when it comes to building mood boards and creating layouts.
✔️ AI-driven Auto Masking. You don’t need to select intricate elements in photos manually. The new release has brought automatic tools. Therefore, the entire workflow becomes faster.

Disadvantages

New features take time to master. The updates are really good. However, some of the new tools, like Content-Aware Fill, were a bit tricky at first. I had to spend some time to figure out how to use them properly.
Subscription-based model. No wonder, Creative Cloud is a great tool. However, the subscription price, even with Adobe discounts, may be too high for freelancers and people who are just starting out and don't have a lot of money to spend.
Occasional bugs in Premiere Pro. While testing Premiere Pro, I experienced a few small problems. For example, the timeline got stuck when I was editing big video projects. Though these issues weren't major, I was disappointed.

What Still Needs to Be Upgraded After Testing

Generally, the upgraded version of Adobe CC 2019 contains many powerful apps. Still, there are certain features that require enhancement:

  • Better performance when handling large files: Although Photoshop, Lightroom, and other free Adobe software are now working faster, you may still experience a slowdown when dealing with large or complex projects. I hope the Adobe team will pay close attention to this issue.
  • Improved team collaboration. We have used Creative Cloud Libraries at FixThePhoto to share our design assets, but it's a pain when we have to wait for them to update. I wish they synced faster so we could all be on the same page and work more efficiently.
  • Cross-app integration could be smoother. The Adobe team made it easier to switch between Premiere Pro and After Effects. It has become quicker to move items, but sometimes the process isn’t very smooth.

Free Alternatives

Don't want to spend a lot on software? There are some great free or low-priced 2019 Adobe CC alternatives. I've used them all and they work pretty well.

GIMP is a free editing program that's a good alternative to Photoshop. It's perfect for people who are just starting out or don't need all the bells and whistles that cost a hefty sum. It's not as powerful as Photoshop, but it's still really good for fixing photos and making simple designs. I've used it to touch up pictures and even create a logo. After comparing GIMP vs Photoshop, I can say that GIMP is very customizable.

I used Inkscape as a free replacement for Illustrator when I needed to do vector graphics. It doesn't have as many features as Illustrator, especially if you need tools for teamwork. Still, it is good enough to make logos, drawings, and diagrams. I think the Inkscape vs Illustrator comparison can be interesting for people who are looking for a user-friendly program that doesn’t cost a fortune.

DaVinci Resolve caught my eye when I was looking for a free video editor that could do a lot of things. It has powerful tools for color grading and multi-track video editing. Even though it may seem a bit complicated at first, especially, if you compare DaVinci Resolve vs Premiere Pro, it's a great option budget-friendly option.

Blender is a popular choice for 3D modeling, but it's also capable of video editing and animation. I used it when I needed to create simple animations. Comparing Blender vs After Effects, it becomes obvious that the former isn’t very intuitive. Still, it is an open-source program with an active community, so if you want to learn animation without spending any money, choose Blender.

Canva vs InDesign – which program to choose for creating marketing materials and social media graphics? In fact, they both can satisfy your needs. Still, it is much easier to learn Canva, especially for beginners. You can drag and drop elements to create designs without needing a lot of design experience. Though this alternative to InDesign isn’t very feature-rich, it's a great option for creating flyers, posters, or social media posts promptly.
