After downloading IrfanView and using it for a while, I was highly impressed with its speed, extensive format support, and versatile editing and batch conversion functionality. I also enjoyed personalizing the software’s menu and UI to fit my needs.
It only took me a minute to install it on my laptop. This software takes up little space on your hard drive and consumes minimal resources to run, which is why it’s perfect for opening and processing big files.
IrfanView's batch conversion functionality is very convenient and can do wonders for improving your productivity. I can safely suggest this photo viewer to graphic designers and photographers interested in making fast edits to their images. It’s among the most versatile tools for viewing, adjusting, and managing all possible image files.

User-friendly and comprehensive UI
After you download IrfanView, you’ll be greeted by a minimalist and intuitive interface that offers convenient navigation and a handy layout. Even though this software is very user-friendly, it still managed to impress me with how many features it comes with.
Supports a large number of plugins
The software’s plugins expand its functionality, allowing you to replace a bunch of third-party tools with just IfranView. For instance, the Photoshop filter plugin enabled me to add a variety of filters to my photos without having to open any other software, which is extremely convenient and time-efficient.
Solid range of image correction features
I got a lot of mileage out of the available image enhancement tools included in IrfanView, including the provided brightness, contrast, and color balance settings. These features allow me to improve the look of my images without having to purchase premium photo editing software for PC.
Robust image conversion functionality
I frequently have to convert pictures to a different format for work, and IrfanView has satisfied all my needs in this regard. It’s possible the best free image converter out there due to the extensive list of supported formats and its high conversion speeds.
Inconsistent performance
When working on my graphic design projects, I frequently have to deal with big files that need to be quickly opened and enhanced. Sadly, IfranView can freeze or slow down when handling bigger images, which leads to frustration on my part, particularly when I’m trying to juggle several designs simultaneously. That said, considering that you can download IrfanView for free, such a setback is perfectly forgivable.
Not entirely free if employed for commercial purposes
Since I’ve grown to rely on IrfanView for my work, I was forced to get a commercial license to continue using it for my graphic design projects. Even though it’s nice that I supported the developers of this terrific tool, this was still an unplanned expense that might turn away some users who expected this software to be completely free regardless of what they used it for.
