This InPixio review consists of 7 unique photo editing programs where each element of the bundle is perfect for the definite basic photo editing purposes. Let’s review all 7 programs and find out why you should use exactly InPixio app to edit your images.
InPixio is a big “family” of photo editing softwares. It comprises a full-fledged program, which you’ll need to cope with various tasks – InPixio Photo Editor, and other 6 programs for specific actions with photos – Photo Clip, Photo Focus, Photo Maximizer, InPixio Photo Cutter, InPixio Photo Suite and Photo Eraser. They are all used to remove unwanted objects from the photos, perform cropping, work with formats, fix focus and so on. So what Inpixio Module is the best free photo editor
As you can see from my rating InPixio group claims to be the main competitor to Lightroom and other similar photo color correction programs. In fact, you can do color correction and other similar photo changes, using InPixio Photo Editor, but for more complex image retouching you still need Photoshop or its analogs, such as GIMP. For a more detailed InPixio review, read below.
The first thing I noticed, working on my MacBook was that InPixio simply did not think about the owners of platforms other than Windows. Among all the 6 programs, there are only 2 for the Mac platform – InPixio Photo Eraser and Photo Clip. As you can see, even the main program – InPixio Photo Editor wasn’t designed for Mac users. I had to switch to a Windows-based computer to test InPixio.
InPixio Photo Editor has a basic interface for the photo editing which is enough for the standard color correction, but not for the advanced image manipulations. The rest of the programs are more limited in the number of possible functions, but the tasks they specialize in are done perfectly.
The only thing I liked so much is that all the features in the trial version are available and the program has absolutely no advertising and constant reminders that you should definitely purchase the full version.
Best Photo Editing Software - InPixio Editor:
InPixio Photo Editor Review: The biggest advantage of this Editor is the variety of professional tools. You can use them just to perform the basic image editing to share the photos in social networks, show the relatives and mates or make more advanced improvements that are needed for your job. The program features lots of frames, themes, and designs, so you can choose any that match the style of your pictures. The image editing is done rather quickly.
InPixio Photo Clip Review: This software is used if you need to remove some unwanted objects from the photo, preserving its original look. Unfortunately, the app isn’t powerful enough if you intend to change or enhance the background or apply some advanced effects. Considering the strong points of InPixio Photo Clip, we can mention the automatic color detection option. The program detects the part of the image that requires color improvement and thus, you have a chance to get really admirable results.
InPixio Photo Maximizer 3 Review: It happens quite often that your photos taken with a tablet, phone or even a camera are blurry, pixeled or grainy when you zoom them on the computer. The Photo Maximizer was designed to reduce or eliminate these defects. You can zoom your pictures up to 1000% and see what area need to be improved. What is important is that this app doesn’t distort the original image and the definition is saved. Using the tools, you may:
So, the finished photos become clearer.
InPixio Photo Focus Review: Photographers sometimes ignore the tiny details of the photo, which also require editing. With this app, you’ll notice the smallest defects, adjust clarity and contrast, enhance the photo by dint of the color adjustments, sharpening and blurring tools. All the changes are saved with several mouth slicks.
InPixio Photo Cutter: If you think that the background you have in the photo isn’t the best variant to accentuate the main object, or it lacks bright colors, you may easily remove it with the help of InPixio Photo Cutter.
InPixio Photo Eraser Review: If there are some secondary objects, which only distract attention from what you’ve tried to capture, you can benefit greatly from the Photo Eraser module. Starting with large objects, such as cars, to small ones are gone within several seconds.
InPixio Photo Suite Review: The app has interesting effects, professional image editing tools, diverse frames, and pictures organizing features. In fact, not every popular editing software offers such functions. Even if you have a very powerful digital camera, this module will help perfect the images. You can:
Any manipulations connected with old photos restoration are also possible to perform with several clicks.
The first time I used the program I thought that all the 7 elements of the InPixio kit can be purchased as a one set at a single price. But it turned out that each program has an individual price, and you can choose either InPixio Photo Editor premium or standard version, which valid to all other programs of the collection as well. The InPixio guys want to get too much for their programs, taking into account the fact that functions are rather limited. So, to have the full opportunity to edit a photo you will need to spend at least $150. But the good news is that it works on a one-time payment. If you want to download InPixio Photo Editor and get a completely free program for image editing – InPixio is not the best option. They offer the free mobile version and a strange program for TV. You may also get the trial version of the 6 program, except for the InPixio Photo Suite.
The program is more demanding than the online analogs. Besides, it is only compatible with Windows, so MacOS and Linux users won’t be able to use it.
InPixio Photo Editor Pro is the main program from the InPixio group. While loading, you won’t get right into the program, but in the selection menu, where you will see all the programs available for the use, as well as those that are not purchased yet.
The running of the program is accompanied by a picture similar to how it is done in all Adobe programs. Immediately after the starting, you are offered to choose one of the test photos for editing.
To be honest, this is the first time I see something like this in such programs. It's generally very convenient if you just want to test how the program works but don’t have your own pictures. I tried to upload a photo in RAW format and understood that InPixio Photo Editor does not work with these formats, so you can open your photo in jpeg, png, bmp and something similar.
I didn’t want to form the judgment by InPixio Photo Editor reviews only. That’s why for the retouching I decided to pick up the most standard portrait on a neutral background, so it's much easier to judge the usefulness of effects and other tools that this program offers.
The first thing that I could not but try was the presets. There are more than 100 presets available and they are divided into 10 categories. But to be honest, there are only 2-3 decent presets in all the collection, while others have a very strange effect. They made the photo either oversaturated or vice versa too dim, so the quality of the presets is very low. By the way, you can’t control the way the presets work.
I couldn’t decide what preset to use, so I chose a simple “Texture” variant. After I applied it, there were slightly visible changes, a little color correction. The background tone became more pleasant and the skin color more natural. Any manipulations with presets are rather inconvenient since there are only 4 presets you will see on the screen. So, you will need to spend approximately 20 minutes to choose them. And in the end you’ll get sick and tired of this.
Next, you should examine the Adjustment tab of InPixio Photo Editor, which opens an access to the standard changes in exposure, saturation, and sharpness of the pictures. Still, it is not clear why there is a separate tab for Tone Curves.
In general, making all the changes is very inconvenient as you will see them displayed in a large window. Though, it is better to observe them in a small window in the upper right corner.
The next function available in the program is that you can make the gradient. The way you control the process is completely copied from Lightroom and that's why it is very convenient and easy to understand. But the work of the gradient itself is so good. In the photo, even with the slightest application of a gradient with the blurred edges, you will see a clear transition and a sharp line of this transition that cannot be corrected with the tools of InPixio Photo Editor.
The next tab for image editing is called “Correction” and allows you to make slight improvements. But the truth is that sharpness is completely useless, even having set the value to the maximum rate you won’t see absolutely any changes.
The next set of tools is called Effects and I do not quite understand why Color balance and Vignetting, for example, could not be included in the “Adjustment” where they would be more useful.
I liked the creative blur effect, which allows you to select the part of the photo that you want to keep clear and blur everything else. Actually, this was the way I achieved a smooth gradient transition line. The most terrible thing about this tool is that you cannot work properly with a brush. With each click, you will see this annoying inscription “Processing”, which will make the work of the whole program will very slow. I do not see anything complicated in the functioning of such a small tool. Besides, I don’t understand why it’s necessary to perform the “loading” after each click.
The Film Grain effect increases the graininess of the photo. I have come across the InPixio Photo Editor review and understood that this effect may be useful for some photographers. The vignette tool works the same way as in other editors. But the function of both dark and light vignettes isn’t a standard one.
You can add a frame to your photo, but I never use frames in such programs and do not see the reason to do it. In most cases, a frame spoils the picture, instead of making it more interesting.
In the Textures toolbox, there are a few interesting effects that can slightly improve your photo by adding a few extra colors to it. There are also some oversaturated stupid effects and I’m not sure if anybody uses them. Fortunately, there is InPixio trial you can use to check the tools.
The most interesting thing happened when I was trying to save the edited photo. I saw such an ad saying that the photo I want to save will contain watermarks until I buy the full version of the program. There wasn’t any chance to choose the format or anything else. After saving and rather long waiting I finally got such a photo:
I'm very disappointed in InPixio. What is the reason to offer InPixio trial version if you can’t it normally use? Hardly anyone will want to have a photo with watermarks. Everything in the program is completely free and available but what’s the use if you can’t save any photo and look at the changes you made. The most interesting is that even Adobe products have fully working trial versions of all programs and not for 5 days as InPixio, but for 14. That’s why I can say that InPixio developers just try to get more money and don’t bother about helping users with image editing.
You can make minimal changes as basic color correction, but most of the tools here work incorrectly. There is no advertising at all and everything works well, but all these fade when you want to save the photo. This program just does not allow you to save a free photo without watermarks.
Photo Focus is designed to control the brightness of the photo and its contrast, as well as to regulate the background blurring and to create the focus. At the first opening, I immediately realized that the program isn’t inherently different from InPixio Photo Editor, only the functions are significantly reduced and concentrated mainly on the focus adjustment.
In the upper part of the screen, you may see quick actions with a focus that you can do. There are only four of them – Architecture, Landscape, Macro, and Portrait.
Here is the result of the Portrait action applying. I will not say that this is the best blurring possible. Lots of unnecessary things were blurred, especially the fingers. The artificial blurring is very noticeable. I would not use it for my photos, and especially because it cannot be changed.
The Sharpen button makes unnecessary graininess throughout the photo, which significantly degrades the quality of the entire picture. All in all, the program is useless; it has the same functions as the InPixio Photo Editor but in a reduced variant, it also lags with Creative Blur and also does not save a photo without watermarks. The general conclusion about the program is that it’s totally useless.
The program is a simple throwing money to anywhere since it can not do anything except bluring the background. They are proud of their Sharpen function, but I absolutely do not understand what's good about it, since it simply adds noise to your photo.
Having started the program, I laughed out loudly as the guys from InPixio made 6 absolutely identical programs. Each program has one additional function that distinguishes it from the others. So, if you want to get everything at once, think about InPixio Photo Editor free download.
The only difference between Maximizer and other InPixio programs is the possibility to maximize the photo by 1000%. But even this function is completely useless, as you can do only cropping, color correction and noise reduction, using this module. Such an intense zooming you will need only if you are working with really gigantic images, which are, by the way, can hardly be opened in this InPixio app. I opened the photo in the resolution of 6000x4000 but I sincerely do not understand what can be done with this zooming. I don’t see the point of purchasing the program, as the same image manipulations can be done in Photoshop. Besides, the latest also features lots of useful tools and functions. The funniest (or the saddest) thing is that this program costs $60, and actually, it doesn’t do anything important.
Sounds so strange, but InPixio created a separate program to zooming photos. I think that the app is absolutely useless, because why bring the photo closer if it is impossible to do anything with it?.
Before opening the program, I already had some expectations, which were confirmed. It can only cut photos, crop and remove the background, and of course, perform the basic color correction.
To cut out the background you just need to draw a red marker on the unnecessary part of the photo and wait long before the loading will be finished. The program lags a lot when it comes to any changes in the photo.
The background is removed very “dirty”, and especially, in the hair area, it is not removed at all. I really expected something like this. While in Photoshop you can just zoom in and painstakingly remove the fine details of the background in your hair, here when you try to remove the background in your locks, the action is applied to all the shades of this background, even if they are on the model. I tried to work with the hair and got this:
As you can see, the eyes were also removed and they cannot be returned. The only possible way is to cancel the action of removing the hair, which I have tried to improve so long. What is even more annoying is the constant loading in InPixio Photo Cutter. You moved the mouse – wait, canceled the action – wait, but if you applied any action – wait twice as long. Sometimes such downloads last for 10-15 seconds and you understand that the work becomes almost impossible.
There is also a very funny function, called Photomontage. You can put the cropped image on the certain background. But you understand that no one will use it in our time since this is a truly outdated format of the photo retouching. Nowadays, if you want to change the background, you either have excellent knowledge of Photoshop, and do it for many hours, or use the outsource photo editing services.
It was created with a good purpose - to cut out the background quickly and without extra effort, layers and so on. But in fact, the system is still very damp and cuts the background based on color, i.e. if the person has the same colors as the background, then it will also be cut out.
I wasn’t even surprised when I opened the photo and saw only 3 available functions, only 2 out of which were new for me. For some unknown reason, every photo I opened was oversaturated with noises and I couldn’t fix it anyway. I changed 5 photos but the noise did not disappear, so I had to work like this.
I wanted to test the effectiveness of the program by removing a small stone in the river on this wedding photo. I think everybody knows that it takes a couple of minutes in Photoshop. Let’s see how the automatic eraser mode works.
The loading lasted more than 40 seconds and after that, I got such a result. The stone is removed though there is a small trace noticeable. But the work is done quite skillfully and professionally. Frankly speaking, I expected a worse result. But it is still not very pleasant to use the program since even a small removal of the object requires a fairly long loading. If you want to remove larger objects, there will be some signs in the background, which may spoil the whole picture.
InPixio Photo Eraser program also has the Clone tool, which is the exact copy of the Stamp in Photoshop and it works the same way. I hope you understand that InPixio just took a few tools from Photoshop or Lightroom and split them into several different programs that cannot do anything else.
The only InPixio program that really does its job well - it removes objects from the photo. The only question that I have is why you need a program that does not know anything else?
I was extremely disappointed with the computer version of the program, I decided to try my luck with the mobile InPixio app. I downloaded it in the AppStore and started to study. The first picture I saw set the records straight. Everything is done very tasteless and uninteresting, I didn’t even want to continue as I knew that there would be nothing good.
Trying to take pictures, I realized that the application does not know how to somehow “help” a phone while shooting, so I proceed to image retouching. The menu is very narrow and allows you either to save a photo or to start the image retouching. I really don’t understand what is the use of this menu.
The choice of tools is quite wide, like in the other similar apps. The changes are made with the help of the slider, but the problem is that they are applied too abruptly and there is no scale to see the degree of the used effect. At first glance, there are a lot of tools, but if you look closer at the most interesting ones, such as Effects, you will notice that InPixio developers wanted to earn more money even in such a way.
There are only 2 free effects, and the rest will cost $2. In fact, InPixio Photo Editor mobile is useless because it does the same actions as Instagram, and offers the same filters, but it requires additional payment for this.
The mobile version has a standard set of tools and does not offer anything new in terms of photo editing. It is very limited in effects, it seems that InPixio makes their programs only for the purpose of earning, not helping people in basic photo editing.
