DaVinci Resolve (19.1.2) Version That Cracked the Industry

Before this software, I used older versions of Resolve for basic editing. They were good, but they didn’t have the power and flexibility this new version has. DaVinci Resolve 19 has made editing faster, timelines smoother, and color work more creative.

I love the new features, but I hope they keep the tools easy to use while improving them.

❌ Hard to learn: DaVinci Resolve 19 has a lot of cool features, but they can be tricky to figure out at first, especially if you’re new to video editing. It takes time to get used to this software.
❌ Some bugs: Sometimes, the program might crash or have small issues when working on really complex projects. It can be annoying, but updates should fix most of these problems soon.

After trying out DaVinci Resolve 19, here are some things I think could be better:

1. Memory optimization: The program works faster now, but when you’re working on big projects or using high-quality videos, it can still slow down sometimes. If it used memory more efficiently, everything would run smoother, even when editing complicated projects.

2. Work better with add-ons: Although DaVinci Resolve 19 has amazing built-in tools, it would be great if it worked more easily with extra effects, transitions, and LUTs from other creators. This would help people who like using special plugins to create cool effects that aren’t included in the software.

3. Smoother playback for complex edits: Editing feels faster overall, but when you’re doing complex work like adding heavy effects or working with 3D graphics, the video doesn’t always play smoothly in real time. Fixing this would make editing easier and save time since you wouldn’t have to keep waiting for previews to load.

4. Simpler color tools for beginners: DaVinci Resolve 19 is excellent for adjusting colors in videos, but learning how to use these tools can be confusing if you’re new to this program. Adding beginner-friendly tutorials and ready-made options for color editing would make it way easier for beginners to use the program without feeling overwhelmed.

If you can’t buy DaVinci Resolve 19 or need something more affordable, there are some great video editing software for Windows, Mac, or Linux you can try:

HitFilm is a free video editing program that’s also great for adding special effects. You can use this VFX software to fix colors, add 3D effects, and create professional edits. It’s easy to use and comes with lots of tutorials to help you learn.

Lightworks is a professional editing program, and it has a free version that’s useful for most projects. You can edit videos, adjust colors, and even work with multiple cameras. Comparing Lightworks vs DaVinci Resolve, the only catch is that the free version of Lightworks only lets you save videos in 720p quality. However, it is still a great tool for easy and intermediate projects.

Blender is mostly known for creating 3D animations, but it also has a video editor. You can use it to cut clips, add transitions, and fix colors. It’s perfect if you’re also interested in 3D animation, but it works well for regular video editing too.

Shotcut is a free and open-source video editor that supports 4K videos, lets you edit audio, and has various video effects. You can also change the layout to fit how you like to work. Shotcut supports many different video formats and lets you make simple color adjustments and corrections.

Kdenlive is a powerful editor with tools for adding effects, color grading, and working on multiple tracks at once. It supports many video formats and lets you customize the layout. It’s great for both beginners and experienced editors, and you can use it on Linux, Mac, or Windows.
