Looking for a simple editor with all the basic functions for editing video, adding effects and removing noise from the soundtrack? Check out Lightworks vs Movie Maker overview and pick the best video editor for your work.
Lightworks is amongst the top few online academy award winning video editing systems which have made iconic Hollywood films like Moulin Rouge, Mission Impossible and Notting Hill into blockbusters.
Movie Maker is a video editing software by Microsoft. It was part of Windows Essentials software series and provided the ability to make and edit movies and to publish them on OneDrive, Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, Windows Live Groups & Flickr.
The Lightworks software includes import / capture and exporting features which are similar to those of Adobe Elements and After Effects. You will find dozens of effects and a precise color adjustment tool.
Lightworks Features:
In terms of technical specifications, Lightworks software has a built-in tool set for grading and editing footage. In fact, it comes with four different grading wheels that enable you to specify a standard or a specific look, as well as adjust the attributes of the background.
It also contains a unique grading tool that allows you to apply a combination of effects on the images that you are working on, such that you can apply a moving effect and a stationary effect. The fourth wheel also has an option for creating an overlay, which is necessary when you want to make some other changes on the images after they have been edited.
One feature that makes lightworks an exceptional free video editing software is the fact that it comes with numerous useful transitions effects. The transition effects in lightworks enable you to make professional looking videos with beautiful images. To get started with your editing, you need to open a new project.
The Movie Maker software also features a Windows Movie History tab which you can use to display the last five changes you have made to any picture or movie. Advanced options include custom effects and transitions. With custom effects the images you have imported can be changed according to your preferences. Other transitions include cut/paste, marquee, fade ins and stretch marks.
To add transitions to use Windows Movie Maker effects tab, select from a wide variety of transitions, apply and then save. Transitions allow you to take one picture and change its color or theme in just one click and this feature is very useful for when you import a picture from an image file and want to change its appearance.
To add movie title simply select the text tool, hover over the movie title and click the button "add title here". After you are done with the effects tab you can change the colors of your text by using the toolbar at the top of the screen.
