Searching for basic photo editing software that allows correcting distortion? I have compared GIMP vs PicMonkey and now I’m ready to share my opinion.
GIMP is an open source and free-licensed raster graphics editor utilized for image editing and manipulation, image conversion between various image file formats, free-form drawing, and much more complicated tasks involving complex image manipulation, thanks to unlimited third party plugin support.
PicMonkey is an easy to use free web based image editing tool that's available for download for free and requires no downloading of images. As a basic image editing software, PicMonkey has four basic functions available to the typical user; the touch up function, editing auto-Save, image stabilization and background change support.
One of the coolest features that GIMP offers is the fact that it supports a large variety of plugins. For example, you might find that you want to change the color of your images, change the size, change the orientation, add text to your images, have a lot of other functions performed on your photo editing work, and more.
It is free, open source, cross-platform, easy to use, edit and manipulate, fast to load, and a fast file transfer protocol. It also has many additional features. It can be used for simple photo retouching applications, as a basic paint program, a high quality image editing program, a web batch processing software, a photo format conversion program, a web texture converter, a photo editor, a web generator, etc.
GIMP also includes some tools like the Magic Repeating Layer, Magic Eraser and Goldenfish painting software. These tools are optional and are part of the GIMP software suite. Some other features included in the GIMP software are the advanced scripting features, the capability of undo and redo, the ability to merge folders, the thumbnail view, the quick access toolbar, etc.
One of the coolest features that GIMP offers is the fact that it supports a large variety of plugins. These are plug-ins that you can install on your GIMP computer that perform a number of different functions that make working with GIMP very easy.
PicMonkey offers users the ability to edit, enhance, resize, thicken, and restore any type of digital photograph. This includes all sorts of digital photographs, including ones that have been taken with a digital camera or a digital camcorder.
This software offers both tools to edit photos such as backgrounds, effects, and text, as well as features for generating captions, titles, and text for social media posts. These tools work in conjunction with the company's comprehensive photo editing software suite. The graphic design software offered by PicMonkey is cross-platform, meaning that it can also be used on the Internet and on most mobile devices.
Another benefit is that there are no technical limitations as to what types of photos you can edit. Even better, the program's ability to sync its editing services with social media sites means that you can share your photos with the whole world.
PicMonkey does not need to be downloaded to make minor adjustments to your photos, such as fixing red-eye or perspective changes.
But GIMP is a more serious tool with support for third-party plugins, customizable brushes and a broader base of effects. In addition, its functionality allows not only editing, but also creating a simple design.
