FreeCad is an open source, free and general purpose general-purpose parametric CAD/CAM software application with finite element approach to support and limited user-defined method interface. It is developed by the European Computer Society. It is available as a free download from their website for a limited time period. This software is used in schools, corporations, industrial engineering companies and other firms that produce or provide construction and related information for commercial purposes.
The software is designed so that users can define design objects by using a wide range of CAD drawing tools, which includes: AutoCAD Drawing Tools, CAD Modeling Tools, CAD Planner, CAD Text Editor, etc. Users can also customize and personalize the shapes they want to place on the objects and manipulate them with the various AutoCAD tools. There are also CAD models in freeCAD that allow users to preview the shape directly.
