Advantages

advantages aiseesoft video enhancer

Visual noise reduction. Both older videos and clips recorded in low-light conditions tend to have a lot of grain, particularly if you use an older camera. The newest edition of Aiseesoft Video Enhancer has allowed me to significantly boost the clarity of my footage, providing much better results than any alternative AI video editors I’ve tried. It got rid of the noise without blurring the video, ensuring everything still looked detailed and eye-catching.

Image stabilization. I tend to record my vlogs and travel videos while walking around, so I constantly have to deal with camera shake. The stabilization feature built into Aiseesoft Video Enhancer got rid of most of the instability automatically, meaning I didn’t have to go through the laborious process of using keyframes to stabilize the footage manually. It’s almost as efficient as having a gimbal without actually using it.

User-friendly UI. Even complete beginners will have no trouble making sense of the tools included in this software. All features and menus are properly marked and you can apply any enhancement in just a couple of clicks. I could conveniently improve the quality of my footage without having to browse through dozens of menus or watch hours of online guides.

Hardware acceleration. The rendering process is a lot faster compared to the previous versions. Aiseesoft Video Enhancer now leverages GPU acceleration to achieve superior rendering speeds and it shows even on my midrange laptop. This is arguably the most optimized lightweight video editing software for Windows available in this price range.

Disadvantages

disadvantages aiseesoft video enhancer

Lack of 3D footage support. If you like working with 3D projects, this software isn’t for you. It doesn’t allow opening or enhancing 3D footage, which seems like a huge glaring omission in 2025.

Incompatible with Blu-ray. I sometimes deal with Blu-ray copies of older family movies, and this software can’t open them. As Blu-ray is a dedicated video format it needs to be properly supported and that isn’t the case with Aiseesoft. If Blu-ray compatibility is important for you, you’ll have to use a second solution alongside Aiseesoft or pick a different solution altogether.

What Could Be Improved in Aiseesoft Video Enhancer?

After I did testing and rating Aiseesoft Video Enhancer 9.2.65, I handpicked a couple of aspects in which I’d like to see some progress in the future. Even though the current version is great for most standard video enhancements, adding a couple of highly requested features would make this software a lot more appealing to users who deal with high-resolution videos or have more elaborate editing requirements.

By incorporating the following improvements, Aiseesoft could have a much better chance of competing against premium video editing solutions.

improvement aiseesoft video enhancer
  1. Format support. Compatibility with new codecs and less popular formats leaves much to be desired. Moreover, I’ve had older .mts files not open properly, forcing me to use a video converter beforehand.
  2. Audio editing functionality. Even though Aiseesoft is fantastic at video enhancements, its audio editing tools are very limited. A simple equalizer and automated noise minimization would already go a long way to making this solution more versatile.
  3. Export presets. I’d much appreciate if the developers added export templates for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Having to set the bitrate and resolution by hand isn’t that big of a problem, but a more streamlined approach would be welcomed.

Free Alternatives

If you don’t know if it’s worth getting the full license for Aiseesoft Video Enhancer, you can explore one of the free alternatives I’ve experimented with over the last few years. Each software has its share of benefits, depending on the type of functionality you’re interested in.

HitPaw Video Enhancer impressed me with its intuitive navigation and toolset. I’ve relied on it to upscale older footage and minimize the noise in clips captured by my smartphone. It’s very convenient and while it has a limited feature set, its AI handles everything for you, requiring just a couple of clicks.

Free Adobe Premiere Pro was my first main tool once I started taking video editing seriously. While it’s a professional solution, I leveraged the free trial option to clean up the sound, apply image stabilization, and perform intricate color grading. It has a steep learning curve, but the results are worth the invested time.

Ashampoo Video Optimizer is a rather basic video enhancement solution that allows you to improve clarity and contrast as well as reduce camera shake. It’s a good option for beginners who want to easily improve the quality of their phone or action camera footage. Even though it doesn’t have any cutting-edge AI tools, it’s very efficient at increasing the overall video quality.

Filmora Free has a streamlined UI and a convenient feature set that includes color correction, filters, and noise reduction. It’s among the most user-friendly options available, often used by vloggers and social media content creators. It also provides real-time previews and hardware acceleration to increase rendering speeds.

Pinnacle Studio Free is another free solution with reliable stabilization functionality, movement tracking, and multi-camera editing support. Even though the free edition leaves out some of the more advanced features, it still lets you improve the quality of most types of videos. It’s a good choice if you want to have more creative freedom than you can get from a basic video editor but aren’t interested in complex professional software.
