First of all, your lamp has to be bright and create a comfortable atmosphere. It is very important to see even the tiniest details when working without straining your eyes. With good lighting, you can work longer and be more productive.
The brightness is measured in lumen (or “lx”). Choose a lamp that has at least 500 lumens. However, the higher the better. The best lamp for artists has 1000 lx or more. In this way, your workspace will be perfectly lit throughout the day. Brightness in some models is adjustable, which is a huge advantage because you can set it as you need.
The next important aspect to take into consideration is the color of the light (also called temperature), which is measured in Kelvin. The newest lamps emit rays with colors from 2700K to 6000K.
2700K is warm light, 3000K - neutral, and 4000K is cold white. Daylight color ranges from 5000K to 6000K. We advise choosing a model with upper color temperature threshold of 5000K - 6000K. This is a convenient temperature for painting. Lower or higher values may create too blue or too orange light so this lamp can be used for other tasks.
