This Lowepro drone backpack is the go-to model for a lot of professional drone pilots. It’s a well-designed product that is mainly aimed at FPV racing drones. Armed with this backpack, one can conveniently carry up to 4 drones without having to worry about their safety.
The backpack is made of sturdy polyester and comes with a reliable chest strap and a pair of shoulder straps that can be easily adjusted to help you achieve the perfect carrying balance. The chest strap is used to take some weight off your shoulders and make walking more comfortable. If you get into bad weather, the included rain cover will help ensure your gear stays dry.
This drone backpack comes with loads of compartments for storing various gear components and accessories. It has stretch and zipper compartments at the sides, which can be used for easily reaching for a bottle of water and other compact items. There’s also a detachable toolbox that offers instant access to tools in case you need to fix something.
The interior of the bag has clear partitions that you can freely move around to fit your gear properly. The partitions have padded dividers, which guarantee your gentle equipment stays safe.
Best drone backpack for DJI Phantom Series

⊕ Can attach a tripod to it
⊕ Has a rain cover and is water-resistant
⊕ Reliable waste straps
⊕ Customizable separators
⊖ Bottom doesn’t have enough padding
This is a reliable and very convenient camera and drone backpack. It was designed for DJI series, mainly Phantom4 Pro. Other than a drone, the backpack also has enough space for a DSLR with a single lens and allows you to attach your tripod to the exterior, offering the perfect combination of convenience and flexibility.
You don’t have to worry about the safety of your gear thanks to the inclusion of 3 protective pouches that snug the gear and keep it in place.
The backpack even comes with special sections for keeping a transmitter, propeller, and spare batteries, making it possibly the best drone and camera backpack if you need both portability and storage space.
With this backpack, you can efficiently manage your equipment, quickly take out and set up the drone, and start taking photos or recording videos in a matter of seconds.
Other great additions are the 17” pocket made for laptops and tablets and a rain cover that will ensure your gear is protected from bad weather. The only real drawback that’s worth mentioning is the insufficient padding of the bottom.
Best travel backpack for drone
Size: 21 x 17 x 9 inch | Weight: 4.23 lb | Material: 1680D Nylon water-resistant material | Compatibility: Every DJI Phantom series
⊕ Lightweight and sturdy
⊕ Thick and snugly padding
⊕ Lots of space for storage
⊕ Has a waterproof cover
⊖ Quite large
Lykus drone backpack is a very lightweight model that is ideally suited for adventurers and photographers, who are only at the beginning of their drone-flying career. The manufacturer managed to make this backpack lightweight and durable by using water-resistant canvas fabric. It’s designed for carrying all types of DJI Phantom equipment.
Lykus has a lower section for storing the drone’s body, a tablet, four propellers, and batteries, and offers extra space for other accessories. You can place the charger and controller in a separate upper compartment for additional protection.
The backpack’s inner design makes it apparent that the manufacturer had the user’s convenience in mind. Dividers keep all the compartments for the drone, propellers, and all other gear pieces apart.
I was especially impressed by the extra layer of padding that is great at protecting the drone and other equipment from falls and accidental bumps. The waist and back straps are also thickly padded, making this backpack very comfortable to carry despite its rather large size.
Best backpack for Mavic 2 Pro
Size: 11.42 x 6.69 x 18.50 in | Weight: 2.95 lb | Material: Nylon | Compatibility: DJI Mavic Pro / Mavic Pro Platinum
⊕ Lightweight and small
⊕ Offers quick access to your equipment
⊕ Nice use if interior space
⊕ Reliable protection
⊖ Doesn’t offer enough style variety
The backpack is pleasantly lightweight and offers the needed durability, which is a rare combination of qualities found in drone backpacks. In contrast to the previous option on my list, this model isn’t large and is perfect for traveling, while still allowing you to store a lot of equipment.
The primary backpack sections offer enough space and partitions to give you complete freedom to customize the interior in any way you want. The shoulder straps felt nice against my shoulders and I didn’t feel the backpack bopping as I was walking around.
The included clips work flawlessly and adjusting the straps to fit your body only takes a couple of moments.
Finally, I would like to note that this backpack drone model would benefit from alternative style options since not all users will love the geometric camo, particularly due to the blue/purplish color that pops up in different lighting. I, at least hope, they’ll add other color variations in the future.
Stylish drone backpack
Size: 11 x 7.5 x 17.7 in | Weight: 1.74 lb | Material: Synthetic Fabric | Compatibility: DJI Mavic Pro, DJI Mavic Pro Platinum, Breeze Yuneec, DJI Spark
⊕ Available storage space meets cabin luggage standards
⊕ Customizable and flexible separators
⊕ Can attach selfie poles or a tripod
⊖ Top handle isn’t particularly sturdy
Despite its small size, this quadcopter backpack can contain a lot of gear, while offering an array of useful features that make your life a lot easier.
The primary gear section can be accessed exclusively from the back, making it impossible for thieves to steal your gear while you’re walking around.
Like other drone backpacks I’ve reviewed, this model has compartments for everything. There are a couple of large side pockets, a Velcro strap for a tripod, and several bungee cords in case you need to bring a monopod.
Additionally, the bag has sections for an 8” tablet and a 13” laptop. It also features sections for various accessories such as batteries, SD-cards, etc.
Manfrotto boasts a refined stylish design and is a great backpack to take on a daily trip. The external body is made of water-resistant material, making this product a reliable companion in poor weather.
The only real drawback is the weak top handle, which won’t last long if you’ll use it often.
Best backpack for DJI Inspire
Size: 11.42 x 9.45 x 21.65 in | Weight: 4.66 lb | Compatibility: DJI Inspire I or Inspire II
⊕ Shoulder straps are easily adjustable
⊕ Very roomy
⊕ Dedicated tablet compartment
⊕ Has space for a gimbal
⊖ Can become bulky
If you’re looking for the best drone case or backpack for DJI Inspire, then this model is for you. It’s pleasantly lightweight and offers a one-of-a-kind carrying system that makes the wearer more maneuverable.
The backpack is made of high-quality, durable material that prevents it from being scratched or damaged.
The first thing you’ll notice after opening the bag is how much storage space it offers. The inner sections come with Velcro and can be removed, allowing you to manage the space as you need. The compartments are protected with dense, soft padding that gives your drone and gear the protection it deserves.
If you want to take a gimbal with you, this backpack has you covered. Its back has a zipper that can be opened for safely retrieving your gimbal.
Lowepro DroneGuard ensures you stay comfortable at all times thanks to the ergonomic support, and shoulder, chest, and stomach straps that can be freely regulated.
The bag is also protected by a state-of-the-art rain cover that will ensure the drone isn’t affected by rain, dirt, sand, or snow, which is another reason I consider this model to be possibly the best drone backpack for adventurers and hikers.
Most versatile drone backpack
Size: 12 x 9.5 x 18 in | Weight: 2.9 lb | Compatibility: DJI Phantom 1, 2, 3 and 4
⊕ 5-year warranty
⊕ Convenient and easy to carry
⊕ Perfect to bring all the accessories
⊖ Non-reliable zippers
This quadcopter backpack may be easily used to carry all types of gadgets ‒ drones, tablets, laptops, gaming gear, etc. It is really handy and flexible.
The first thing that should be noted is that this backpack drone bag does not look like a case for a drone. That is why nobody will notice that you carry such expensive equipment.
It is not huge so you may easily bring it to long trips and feel comfortable. This stylish backpack features a big and spacious storage compartment, numerous side pockets, a waterproof cover and rubber feet. Its Comfort+ harness and an adjustable strap smoothly distributes weight and enables you to hike, power walk or even run without any difficulties.
The pleasant thing is that this drone and camera backpack has a 5-year warranty so you shouldn’t worry about your investment. In case of any defects or malfunctions, you may approach the official manufacturer.
The only detail I am not satisfied with is the zippers ‒ they may be not reliable if the backpack is overstuffed.
Best drone backpack with 2 carrying options
Size: 16.4 x 12.6 x 7.9 in | Weight: 3.45 lb | Material: | Compatibility: Phantom 1, Phantom 2, 3, Phantom 2 Vision/Vision+
⊕ Two carrying options
⊕ Protects against external damage
⊕ Goes with a rain cover
⊖ Non-reliable zippers
SSE has a lineup of drone backpacks, cases and bags for various gear. This model is developed for the Phantom drone but it may be used for any drone of a similar size and smaller. There are compartments for cables, batteries, accessories, a phone, tablet, controller and a laptop (up to 15 inches).
It is one of the best drone backpacks featuring two carrying options. You may use it as a shoulder bag and a backpack. Both variants are convenient to carry.
You will need to make some effort to fix the drone in the compartment. But when it is fixed, you may be sure that your quadcopter is in safe hands. Moreover, while the gadget is in a backpack, it is protected from external damages and water. It has six external pockets and a bottle holder pocket.
Despite all the advantages, I am really disappointed with zippers. They are weak and seem non-reliable.
Best drone backpack with TSA approved lock
Size: 19 x 13 x 9.5 in | Weight: 3 lb | Compatibility: DJI Phantom 4 Pro, Phantom 4, Phantom 3, DJI Mavic, and GoPro Karma drones
⊕ Configurable slots
⊕ Features a rain cover
⊕ Secure Snap-On Installation
⊖ Absence of a lock on the outer zipped compartment
If you’re looking for a reliable backpack, Drone Trekker is exactly what you need. It offers enough space to carry all the necessary items ‒ a remote control, water bottles, a camera, etc. This quadcopter backpack features TSA approved lock that will protect your gear during trips, for example, in airports.
Moreover, you may adjust the bag for any type of drones by removing the interior walls of the compartments.
Drone Trekker attracts the customers with its compact design and portability. If you choose it for your drone, you will easily carry the drone around without any difficulties. The backpack has oversized padding in the shoulder straps that helps support the drone weight together with batteries.
This backpack is a great variant for those who carry a tripod because there is an adjustable buckle for it. It is situated in the central part of the quadcopter backpack without affecting the gravity center.
In such a way, the bag will not move left or right complicating your moves.
What I don’t like about this backpack is that the outer compartment for a laptop doesn’t have a zipper lock.
Best hard case drone backpack
Size: 18.1 x 12.6 x 10.2 in | Weight: 3.95 lb | Material: Foam, EVA material | Compatibility: DJI Phantom 4, Phantom 3 Professional, Advanced, Standard, 4K
$ VIEW ON eBay
⊕ Solid and durable quality
⊕ Lightweight and water-resistant
⊕ Adjustable straps
⊕ Features strong high-density foam
⊖ Foam may loosen over time
Powerextra Hard Case is a solid, durable and reliable bag that will serve you for a long time. Moreover, you don’t need a rain cover since it’s made of water-resistant material.
It is developed to carry DJI Phantom 4 and Phantom 3 Professional, Advanced, Standard, 4K Quadcopter Drone and accessories like propellers, a battery, remote control, charger.
Powerextra quadcopter backpack features strong and high-density foam that protects all the gear you carry inside. If you have this case, you shouldn’t worry about your equipment ‒ all accessories and Phantom components will be secure and separate no matter whether you hike or run. This backpack is convenient for traveling by plane since it easily fits in the overhead bin.
However, you shouldn’t overestimate its capabilities. The foam may be damaged if you are not careful using it and it may loosen over time.
Budget drone backpack
Size: 14.2 x 11.1 x 6.6 in | Weight: 2.94 lb |Material: Polyester | Compatibility: DJI Phantom 4/ 4 Pro
⊕ Not expensive
⊕ Reliable design
⊖ Absence of secure functions and locks
Smatree DP3000 quadcopter backpack is a clear example of a durable bag that fully protects your drone and all the accessories. It features a large compartment inside to securely carry your gear. Its case is made of foamed polystyrene, which is very lightweight.
On the backside of the main compartment, there is a pocket for mobile gadgets, for example, tablets, smartphones up to 9.7 inches. Moreover, there are 4 adjustable cells for batteries.
Knowing that experienced drone flyers always bring extra propellers with them, Smatree DP3000 developers improved the bag with two external zipped pockets to carry propellers.
Although it is the best non-expensive variant, it is not reliable in terms of security. If you are a lucky owner of a professional drone that costs much, this case is not your option. It disappoints the users with the absence of locks and other security functions.

If you compare two almost similar drone backpacks, you will find plenty of differences between them. That is why I have studied numerous reviews and considered my own experience to offer you the list of the aspects you should pay attention to.
Compatibility. As a rule, drone backpacks are developed for particular drone models. For instance, there are cases for Phantoms or cases for quadcopters of a specific size. However, there are also universal bags for all drone types. So, choosing a quadcopter backpack, you should always consider compatibility.
Water Resistance. This feature is of particular importance since the safety of your equipment depends on it. If any liquid comes in contact with your drone or other gear, it may seriously damage it.
Toughness. If your drone and camera backpack is made of tough material, you may fully rely on it. It will protect all your gadgets, including an expensive drone and laptop, even in the most extreme conditions.
Stitching. When it comes to choosing drone backpacks, always pay attention to stitches. A decent case should feature solid stitching that will not come undone over time. No matter how many trips you took this bag to, 30 or 300, the stitches should remain solid.
Try to choose cases that have a double stitch or zigzag one. Only in such a way you may be sure that the backpack will serve you for long. Don’t forget to pay attention to zippers that should be also reliable.
Comfort. As a rule, we begin thinking about the comfort features of the quadcopter backpack when we travel throughout the whole day, shoulder straps have already dug in and scraped our shoulders.
So, in order not to make such mistakes, you should consider comfort options beforehand. Although your drone is a lightweight gadget, together with other gear it may weigh a few pounds. Choose drone backpacks with ample padding in the shoulders or even a hip strap.
Carrying Options. Even if you are conservative about backpacks and prefer a traditional setup, additional straps or alternative options won’t hurt. For example, an extra handle on the top or side might be useful one day.
