Omnidisksweeper by The Omni Group is an open source software for analyzing the contents of a directory or database. The name "Omni" comes from the Omni architecture, which was a joint project of Sun Microsystems and IBM. This is one of a small number of products available which uses the IBM System Database (BSDB) in combination with the Linux kernels. The software is also based on OGCI (Open Geographic Information Infrastructure) and includes support for other projects such as the OpenBase Project.
The Omnidisksweeper software presents a GUI (Graphic User Interface) to the user which helps in selecting the entries to be deleted or identified. Besides just directory listings, the tool allows for the selection of files, subdirectories, links, and other associations. In addition, it includes some related utilities such as the URL tracker and the XML cataloger. The HTML editor provides a simple means to create, rename, delete, and update the files. In addition, the interface allows for simple creation of accounts for users, creating the user's login information, setting the password, and searching the log.
