TrueCrypt is an open source program that provides the ability to encrypt emails, access control, password protection and create VPN networks. It is a very powerful software tool, which is based on the open source TrueCrypt project. The project was started in 1995 by Mark Emery and has been modified and developed to include many new features. Due to the popularity of this software tool, there are now several versions available, each offering a different take on TrueCrypt and its features.
Currently the latest TrueCrypt version is version 7. This latest release incorporates several important bug fixes and improvements, such as improved MAC Address handling, better SSL support, and easier installation on most systems. In addition to these new features however, the software also incorporates a brand new feature which is known as Bounary authentication, which provides additional security to your network by using your current windows security settings.
