Terra Term has become one of the most popular products for controlling and monitoring remote computers. The product offers a GUI-based control over various servers remotely, using an Intranet or WAN. Through a Web-based interface, users can determine which servers to monitor and which applications to run on each server. Through this software, they can have access to all their servers remotely via a single password.
Terra Term offers four major advantages over traditional telnet and SSH software for controlling and monitoring remote computers: it is an actual application, so there is no need to install any extra software to use it; it runs on any serial port or router; it provides multiple server authentication; and, most importantly, it allows user access to multiple computers through a single password. Furthermore, through the use of a serial port, one can easily connect a device, such as a printer, camera, or video camera, to a server and load software from a USB drive.
