Palm Desktop is an integrated personal information manager (PIM) computer application for Microsoft Windows CE or Mac OS X, and is used alone or in conjunction with a Palm OS virtual personal digital assistant (VPDA). Like all PIMs, the software is designed to run on the mainframe of a company's mainframe. Palm Desktop is different from other PIMs because it is primarily a business tool that is used in place of hardware like a mouse or keyboard. While this may seem unappealing to many businesses, in certain situations it is the only way to provide employees with information quickly and efficiently.
