Why does f.lux ask you about recording light? By default, this is a very basic feature on most window boxes, which means that no data is stored from it (so no measure can be taken). It just appears when you are using the About window. To access this feature, you need to press Alt+F.lux; this will open a new window. You can also hold Alt while typing in the box, in order to get more options. However, this doesn't appear to do anything.

So, what this means is that while F.lux can make your eyes feel very warm, it is not overly hot. Your eyes actually feel quite cool. What you have to remember is that the software is still new, so more tests need to be conducted in order to verify this. There is software available which combines the best of F.lux with the ability to make more advanced adjustments based on your own preferences, which is what is currently in development.
