Use your brand new vehicle equipped with a navigation display or another display and you can simultaneously sync the screen from the camera to take over the screen when the vehicle is reversing.
Unless you have a display, you may have to order the best backup camera kit or a separate display, unless it is incompatible with the video input and output. Anyway, you may still need to either attach wires or pre-installed wires that will connect your internal display to the backup camera.
The minimum field of view is 90 degrees. Considering that there are so many units that work better, I would rather not buy anything under 120 degrees. A 1/3"" image sensor and a 120-degree field of view should be your reference point. Ultra wide-angle units of 180 or even 210 create a fish-eye lens effect and it is almost impossible to use them in the opposite direction.
There are 2 different kinds of backup cameras – wireless and wired, each having its advantages and disadvantages. The cost of wireless cameras is higher, but you don't have to be a skilled mechanic to set it up.
Wired cameras are cheaper, but require a lot of work to be installed and you'll probably need the help of a professional. You will need to spend extra money on installation, so I advise you not to forget this during your camera shopping.
Occasionally there will be interference that leads to a bad picture. However, some wireless rearview cameras provide a digital signal that is more reliable but still have issues to consider sometimes. This doesn't break the opportunity for a lot of people, but somebody, who wants to get good reliability from a wired system, will keep searching for another model. Everything depends on the camera and its performance, as well as other functions. I advise you not to take too cheap or too expensive products.
Of course, it's possible. To be able to constantly switch on the back-up camera, you need to connect it to a running light circuit rather than a rear light circuit. So when you want it to be on, just turn on the running lights.
That takes two hours on average and costs $75. Mounting a video display and backup camera can go from $500 to $1,900.
Very few, mostly 1-2 amplifiers.
