Focal length also plays a big role. It’s indicated on a camera and consists of several numbers. The smaller number refers to the widest overall range, while the first number shows how much of the view is covered by the lens. Zoom lenses have two smaller numbers that show different extremes of this range, while a prime lens for Canon 6D has a fixed length.

As rule, Canon EF-S lenses don’t work well for the 6D, thus I recommend using Canon EF lenses. All Canon EF lenses produced since 1986 will be suitable for the 6D, while EF-S lenses are suitable for small-sensor cameras, such as the 7D and XXD / XXXD series.
Although the technology has been grown for the last 6 years, the 6D is still a worthy and solid device. If you want to get a reasonably priced full-frame camera with good ISO performance, accuracy, autofocus speed and video capability, then the Canon 6D is your choice.
While 5D features 61 autofocus cross-type points, the 6D has 11 autofocus points, with only the center one being cross-type. Cross-type autofocus points detect the differences in contrast, which helps the camera focus on the object faster.
Canon EF-S lenses are designed with a smaller image circle that is big enough to cover the smaller sensor on Canon APS-C cameras, while EF lenses are produced for full-frame and APS-C DSLRs. Since EF lenses feature a bigger image circle, they will cover full-frame and APS-C sensors.
