I didn’t study photography, actually, it’s funny to write that, I studied space radiophysics. But during my studies, I realized how much I loved taking pictures and tinkering with camera gear, figuring out how it all works. That curiosity pushed me deeper into this digital world. Helmut Newton’s photos inspired me with how he captured people’s confidence and uniqueness. As a huge fan of David Bowie growing up, seeing Newton’s photo of him felt so real and unforgettable. It pushed me start my new career.
My passion for revealing the truth behind viral trends and products began long ago. In 2017, I decided to test popular techniques, hyped gadgets, and social media trends to see if they really work as advertised. From trendy Insta photo hacks to “magic” editing apps, I’m devoted to uncovering clever marketing and providing aspiring photographers with practical ways to become more proficient.
Along with other members of the FixThePhoto team, I test and review trends to provide honest and trustworthy feedback. We explore tools and techniques to recommend the most effective and reliable one. I’m also an ambassador of the FixThePhoto app, which makes professional photo editing simple and accessible for everyone.
I love crafting diy lighting setups, props, backgrounds from scratch showing amateurs that you don’t have to be rich to start this career. Half my studio gear is built from things I’ve repurposed like old desk lamps, thrift-store finds, and even a roll of toilet paper. In my free time, I love collecting vinyl records, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and crafting 3D figures for the game.
To test trends and create new content for followers, I rely on different high-quality tools. For quick experiments and TikTok content, I use my Google Pixel 7 Pro along with CapCut, an intuitive app for editing videos and photos. I also explore TikTok’s in-app filters and effects to analyze their creative potential.
As for me, there is no better lens for portraits than NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.8 S, and when testing wide-angle techniques, I use Tamron 17-28mm f/2.8 Di III RXD. To ensure stability, I have several Benro tripods in the studio and a Peak Design one for outdoor shoots. For smooth motion videos, my Zhiyun gimbal is indispensable, you can see it on all photos in our blog where I test some shooting conditions.
When analyzing viral trends and hyped products, I dig deeper to check their actual application in real world. By combining the right tools with thorough testing, I aim to separate fact from hype and offer honest insights to my audience.
