My interest in pictures and drawing began during my teenage years when I discovered an old film camera, Sony PD-150 DVcam, in my family’s attic. And here comes everything that even now motivates me to test and write about this digital universe. I followed my passion academically, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
After graduation, I started with experiments as a freelance photographer and barista at the same time. I collaborated with local businesses, families, and artists who were guests of the café where I worked. Later I transitioned to the digital kingdom, specializing in photo retouching and creative editing. Currently, I’m a part of the FixThePhoto team, where I share creative ideas, and test results, provide photography inspiration, and stay at the forefront of the industry’s latest trends for beginners like I was before. My posts, I hope, serve to inspire photographers and bloggers, offering tips on poses, props, and lighting techniques.
Today, staying on top of technological advancements is crucial and, luckily, I work in a team of experts in all fields who help me to stay updated with all new in my area. My go-to tools include Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom of course. I use them extensively for editing, color correction, and retouching. I appreciate the flexibility these programs offer and the suite itself.
Before every major shoot, I spend hours curating boards on Pinterest and bookmarking posts on Instagram. For example, during a fall-themed editorial campaign, I compiled a collection of rustic tones, outfit ideas, and creative poses to pitch to the team.
Canva is one of the best tools I’ve ever used for designing promotional materials. When launching a blog series on retouching tips and a banner for emails, I used Canva to craft visually appealing headers and infographics. Thus, my content was both informative and engaging. It’s an incredible tool for maintaining a cohesive visual brand, even if you’re short on time.
Last summer, I attended a workshop on AI-driven editing tools. I learned how to incorporate machine learning features into my workflow. These technologies now help me streamline repetitive tasks, giving me more time to focus on creative tasks which I highly recommend to do to all my readers in each article.
