My Experience

Growing up in a family that always had the latest tech (my father was an IT specialist who often brought home front-line gadgets to test), I developed an early interest in computers, cameras, and all things tech. After graduating with a degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas, I combined my decent writing skills with my experience for tech testing, launching my career as a tech journalist at first as a freelance on Fiverr and then at FixThePhoto. For the past 10 years, I have created over 300 in-depth reviews of computers, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, and everything our readers may need for work and life.

My career began at a local tech blog of a small Kansas shop. There I contributed articles on new product releases and tech news. Over time, I gained recognition for my ability to break down complex tech concepts into easily understandable, and most important, short content. Thanks to it, I started to work with tech publications and websites, reviewing hardware and writing comparison guides. I’m so lucky to have worked alongside industry professionals and the FixThePhoto team in particular, gaining firsthand knowledge of the latest hardware trends and ability to try them all even before their launch.

My Expertise Includes:

  • PC building and computer components
  • Laptops and tablets
  • Printers, scanners
  • Phone camera accessories
  • Hardware comparisons
  • Buying guides

Technology and Tools I Use

To ensure my reviews are accurate and reliable, I use only trusted resources, always compare with customers’ reviews on Amazon, etc. For example, when I'm testing a new gadget, I always make sure to capture the sharpest and most accurate images possible for my readers see all the gear details. That’s why, I rely on my Sony A7 III. This camera’s full-frame sensor has never let me down. I can take close-ups of the latest smartphone or wide-angle shots of a full tech setup.

When I need to capture even more precise motion, like while demonstrating how a new smartwatch works, I turn to my DJI Ronin-S stabilizer. It helps me get those silky-smooth shots that really highlight the real-time performance of the products I'm testing.

Finally, for all my editing and testing, I have a custom-built PC that is a true treasure that I’m really proud of. The Intel i9 processor and 64GB of RAM are of immense help when I’m working on projects with multiple high-res videos or images. The Dell UltraSharp U2720Q monitor is perfect because I can be sure that every color in my images looks as accurate as possible, and now all my FixThePhoto colleagues at the NY office use these monitors for editing too. I learned early on how crucial it is to get color right, especially when working with devices where display quality is a selling point.
